I Love You Because...

I had seen this on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try!

This small, inexpensive craft has seriously changed my relationship with my husband for the better.  We are both much happier and feel loved, all because of 5 small seconds of time in the mornings.

CHANGED MY LIFE, PEOPLE!

MATERIALS:

• Frame in size of choice
• Scrapbook paper (2 or more designs)
• Mod Podge
• Dry erase markers

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Choose the background for your project and cut it to size. 
2. Use a die-cutter to cut out your phase (or, if you're way more awesome than me, you can freehand or stencil.)
3. Put a thin layer of Mod Podge over the place your phrase and any embellishments you have will go, and quickly place them. Seriously, yall, this stuff dries FAST.
4. Once placed and glue is dried, cover the entire piece with 2 layers of Mod Podge and let dry.
5. Pop into frame, and display in a place you and your significant other will see everyday.
6. FEEL THE LOVE!

I went totally cheap-o on this project and used a beat up Wal-Mart frame I had lying around. I touched it up with some black craft paint and then put 3 coats of sealant on it for protection. 

Every morning before leaving for work Matthew leaves me a little something to wake up to, and then I return the favor for when he comes home. Sometimes it's a sweet little "because you make me the happiest person alive" and sometimes it's a simple "because you take out the trash without complaint." It can be silly! One morning I woke up to "because you have such a funny way of saying things!" meaning my southern way of saying "oil" and "Monday" (pronounced without the "i" and "Mondee").

It's my favorite thing to wake up to. I didn't realize the spring it would put in my step. After an argument, when I'm still pretty agitated, I make it a point to look at it and remind myself how trivial the stuff we argue over is. I mean come on! I have a man who loves me because make the bed every morning! :)

Paper Towel Tube Wall Art

This was super simple to do! I got the idea on Pintrest and made it my own!

Supplies:

Toilet or Paper Towel Tubes squashed and cut into slices (Free)
Hot Glue (Had on hand)
Mod Podge (Had on hand)
Canvas or Wood Plaque (2/$5 at Wal-mart)
Paint (Had on hand)

Instructions:

1. Paint your canvas or wood plaque with the color of your choice. You may have to apply two or three coats.
2. Apply a layer of Mod Podge to seal and get a glossy look
3. While waiting on your paint and Mod Podge to dry, paint your paper towel rolls. You will have to put at least two coats on, because the cardboard soaks up the paint.
4. When your "petals" are dry, arrange them however you want. Do a dry fit to make sure your pattern will fit onto your space. You can make any pattern, or make the flowers as full as you want!
5. Hot glue the "petals" together, using clothespins to hold them together to dry.
6. *Optional* I hot glued a rhinestone in the center of mine for a touch off sparkle. You can leave it plain if you want.
7. Turn the flowers over and place a thick dab of hot glue to the center to the flower and adhere to your canvas.

I want to get to know all my followers, so let me start by telling you about myself!

I am a 22 year old housewife. My husband Matthew and I were married June 26, 2011, in Springville, Alabama. From Alabama, I moved in with my husband in Peachtree City, Georgia. Five months later, we moved to Sumter, South Carolina. Moving twice in five months is not something I would recommend to anyone!

We are the proud parents of two Bengal cats, Glacier and Ryu. They are a handful and LOVE to get into everything! I'm sure you'll be seeing a ton of them.

I LOVE to create new things from old. Saving for a house and family is hard to do when you have blank walls and drap Walmart decor. Creating something from nothing and being able to display it makes it better than anything store bought! My second addiction is organizing. I love for everything to have a home, and a pretty one at that.
